Growing up in Athens, Giannis first learned to hustle by selling goods on the street. It wasn’t until the age of 12 when he discovered a different opportunity to provide for his family – the game of basketball. The tall, skinny kid hit the gym determined to create a better future for the Antetokounmpo’s.

Giannis was elected the 2019 NBA MVP and Nike wanted to tell his story ahead of the release of his signature shoe - the first one made for a non-American player. The Players' Tribune accepted the challenge and I had the pleasure of putting this content together in a four-episode series.
